Job Purpose To assist the Nursing Superintendent in planning, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating nursing services to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality, and patient-centered care while maintaining hospital policies and nursing standards. 2. Key Responsibilities Nursing Administration Supervise nursing staff and ensure smooth functioning of nursing units. Monitor staffing, duty allocation, attendance, and shift arrangements. Ensure adequate nurse-patient ratios according to hospital requirements. Coordinate with Nursing Superintendent, doctors, and other departments. Handle nursing-related complaints, incidents, and staff concerns. Patient Care & Safety Ensure implementation of nursing standards and protocols. Monitor quality and safety of patient care. Conduct regular rounds in wards, ICU, OT, emergency, and other clinical areas. Ensure proper documentation of nursing care. Monitor prevention of patient falls, pressure injuries, medication errors, and other adverse events. Infection Prevention & Control Ensure compliance with hand hygiene and infection-control practices. Monitor biomedical waste segregation. Support prevention and surveillance of HAI such as CAUTI, CLABSI, VAP, and SSI. Coordinate with the Infection Control Team during audits and corrective actions.
